Q is for Quiggins. He's the butler at Wakefield in THE LADY'S MASQUERADE. Until he's given to William and Penny as a wedding present.
Quiggins is a man of mystery. He's a butler by occupation, but has a secret past that allows him to protect Penny from the dangers that surround her.
And then he falls in love with Lady Olivia. Oh, what fun!
I'd forgotten about Quinnins. Is there a story for him in your future?
ReplyDeleteThe butler sees all and says nothing. He knows all the household secrets. Above and below stairs having a romantic liaison is certain social death for the aristocracy and no references for the staff.
ReplyDeleteI love the pictures you've used for your characters, Anne! What a great idea. I do collage type story boards when I'm working on a book, but have never gone into such picture detail for characters. Thanks for the idea!
ReplyDeleteThose butlers like keeping a low profile. It's an excellent cover.
ReplyDeleteHe looks too intelligent, though, and has that direct look. Is that a good thing?
Interesting profiles, Anne.
Bish -- I'm not sure if there's an actual story yet. I may dabble a bit with a short story format, maybe, in a few years. Maybe.
ReplyDeleteJanice -- Ah, yes. Upstairs, downstairs. However, Mr. Quiggins is a most unusual man, and Lady Olivia is a most unusual woman. They take the social boundaries and throw them out the window.
Lesley-Anne -- My pleasure. I'm glad I could help. I find the use of pics for my characters a big help in characterization.
D.G. -- Quiggins' direct look is a very good thing. He can do more with one look than most people with an array of facial expressions. I just love him.
