The A-Z Challenge Letter Z

I just wanted to say Thank You to all of you who have come to my blog to meet my characters. It was fun to do and I hope you liked meeting all of the characters I have come to know and love over the years.

I also hope you'll  keep coming by in the future to see what I have going on in my Regency world.

The A-Z Challenge Letter Y

For the Letter Y, I will show you the characters for my new book (working title THE SEDUCTION OF MR. SUMMERVILLE). I do not have a story for them, only to say that both women are fighting over the same man. But I found their characters and thought I would show them to you.

This is Lady Ariana Dinsmore. Elegant, genteel, perfect in every way. Knows her destiny, until she meets the wrong man.

This is Lady Arabella Dinsmore. Pretty, accomplished, and very sweet. She adores her older sister, until she meets the wrong man.

This is the Wrong Man. Mr. Ethan Summerville, an American, who now finds himself with a title he does not want, and the affections of two ladies he does not know what to do with.

Countess of Dinsmore. She only wants what is best for her daughters.

The Earl of Dinsmore. Cannot abide the fact both of his daughters are in love with an American, newly titled or not.

The A-Z Challenge Letter X

For the letter X, I will show you my lesser characters. People who have small parts in my books.

This is Winsbarren's father, the 8th Earl of Brumbley. He appears in A WIFE FOR WINSBARREN.

This is Bartholomew Wood, Amanda Pomeroy's despicable husband in THE CAPTAIN'S LADY.

This is the Earl and Countess of Briden.
Rosamund Smith's parents in
THE EARL'S ENIGMA.

This is Lady Georgiana Baxter, villainess extraordinaire in THE LADY'S FATE.

This is His Royal Highness, Prince George. Prinny to his friends.

The A-Z Challenge Letter W

W is for William. William Smith, Earl of Westerly, Duke of Caymore.

William has been away from Society for the last ten years fighting in the Army as a Lieutenant-Colonel, when he meets Penny in THE LADY'S MASQUERADE.

William is overcoming his injuries sustained in the war when he offers to steward Wakefield as a favor to his cousin, Robert. William and Quiggins have a great friendship from year's past.

The A-Z Challenge Letter V

V is for Lady Violet Flowers, the young woman who captures Haverlane's heart in THE LADY'S FATE.

She has a lot to overcome, but the one thing that remains constant is her love for Jane, Haverlane's daughter. Violet has always put Jane's welfare over her own.

I think Violet is one of my most unselfish characters.

The A-Z Challenge Letter U

I have nothing for the Letter U, so I will show you some of my lesser characters.

This is Violet's younger sister, Camillia. We meet her in THE LADY'S FATE. I'm hoping someday she'll have a story of her own.

This is Countess Rose Flowers, Violet's mother. She also appears in THE LADY'S FATE. We don't like her very much.

This is the Reverend Andrew Perry, who also appears in THE LADY'S FATE. He helps Haverlane overcome his reticence to loving Violet.

Monday, April 23, 2012

The A-Z Challenge Letter T

This is Miss Ophelia Trent, Davingdale's love interest in A HUSBAND FOR MISS TRENT and LOVE FINDS LORD DAVINGDALE.

A Baron's daughter, she's not "in" Society, but not quite out of it. She's befriended by Lady Penny and finds, not only adventure in London, but a husband as well.

The A-Z Challenge Letter S

This is Aggie, housekeeper and cook for Winsbarren in A WIFE FOR WINSBARREN.

The A-Z Challenge Letter R

R is for Robert. Robert Carlton, Duke of Cantin.

Robert is cousin to William and Ellis.

The A-Z Challenge Letter Q

Q is for Quiggins. He's the butler at Wakefield in THE LADY'S MASQUERADE. Until he's given to William and Penny as a wedding present.

Quiggins is a man of mystery. He's a butler by occupation, but has a secret past that allows him to protect Penny from the dangers that surround her.

And then he falls in love with Lady Olivia. Oh, what fun!

The A-Z Challenge Letter P

P is for Penny, Lady Penelope Leighton, heroine personified. She may look like a sweet miss, but underneath her lovely exterior beats the heart of a lioness. She and William fall in love in THE LADY'S MASQUERADE.

Tuesday, April 17, 2012

The A-Z Challenge Letter O

O is for Lady Olivia.

Lady Olivia is the lady in Society whom everyone is afraid of. Behind her smile, she wields her late husband's power with the absolute authority of one who's right and she's not afraid to let it be known. She's been called a harridan, a harpy, old coot, old stoat, and a meddler of the first water.

But if she likes you, her generosity knows no bounds.

She's been in every book I've ever written because I absolutely adore her.

The A-Z Challenge Letter N

I don't have an N so here's Winsbarren.

John "Jack" Tremont, Viscount Winsbarren, heir to the seat of 8th Earl Brumbley.

He's the bumbling aristocrat who can't seem to find a wife, and that's all he wants out of life. In A WIFE FOR WINSBARREN, Lady Penny devises a scheme, a modern day eharmonymatch dotcom, if you will and places an ad in the local Ladies Gazette in search of the perfect woman.

Sunday, April 15, 2012

The A-Z Challenge Letter M

This is Lady Marion, Duchess of Chesnick. Ellis and William's mother.

I thinks she's the meanest mother in the universe. She's manipulative and only thinks of herself and her position in Society. And she despises Violet in THE LADY'S FATE.

Friday, April 13, 2012

A-Z Challenge Letter L

This is Charles Leighton, Duke of Olmstead. Penny's father in THE LADY'S MASQUERADE.

He's a bit of a pompous aristocrat, and wants his daughter to marry no less than a duke, or his heir, but has his reasons. He's nephew to Lady Olivia's late husband Fitzhugh.

Thursday, April 12, 2012

The A-Z Challenge Letter K

I don't have a letter K. So I'm going to show Rowena instead.

This is Rowena, Lady Elizabeth Rowena Gordon Wheeler, daughter of the Earl of Titchfield.

She had a secret past to keep from Winsbarren, and a larger secret to keep from Society.

Wednesday, April 11, 2012

The A-Z Challenge Letter J

This is Lady Joanna. Robert's mother, the Dowager Duchess of Cantin.

In THE DUKE'S DIVORCE, Lady Joanna tries to persuade Robert he needs to remain married to Fiona. He doesn't want to hear it. But when his friends tell him, "Mother knows best" he wonders if they are all in cahoots.

I like Lady Joanna. She's very kind and does offer up some very sage wisdom.

A-Z Challenge Letter I

I is for Lady Illora Ryder, daughter of the Earl of Harrowby (who incidently was a real Earl and Secretary of the Foreign Office in 1806).

She's Greenleigh's love interest. A complicated woman, a woman of mystery. A challenge to everything Greenleigh wants in a woman.

We'll see what happens.

Monday, April 9, 2012

A-Z Challenge Letter H

H is for Honoria, Lady Leighton, Duchess of Olmstead.

She's Penny's mother and appears in THE LADY'S MASQUERADE.

She's very well liked, and has many friends.

A-Z Challenge Letter G

G is for Greenleigh.  Randolph Remington Culpepper, Earl of Greenleigh.

Greenleigh has appeared in several of my books, and we are presently at work penning his own story.

The only thing I can tell you is he is a spy. But that's a secret.

Friday, April 6, 2012

A-Z Challenge Letter F

F is for Fiona. Lady Fiona Stewart, daughter of the Laird Kintyre, Earl of Kintyre.

In THE DUKE'S DIVORCE, Fiona performs an act of kindness for the Duke of Cantin, but unfortunately it backfires. Forced to marry the pompous Duke, Fiona is treated less than the lady she is. When he proposes an annulment, it can't come fast enough for Fiona.

However, as the days tick by, Fiona changes her mind.

Thursday, April 5, 2012

The A-Z Challenge Letter E

E is for Ellis. Ellis James Dalton Smith, Marquess of Haverlane, Earl of Easterly. Brother to William Smith.

Ellis' adventure is found in THE LADY'S FATE. When the young Lady Violet Flowers saves his daughter Jane from almost drowning, Ellis realizes he's found the perfect nanny. However, what he doesn't understand is why the girl reminds him so much of his late wife, Anne, and why he can't control the feelings he has for her.

Wednesday, April 4, 2012

The A-Z Challenge Letter D

D is for Davingdale. In LOVE FINDS LORD DAVINGDALE, Thomas Merrit, the Earl of Davingdale is haunted by a war wound, which leaves him feel less than the man he is. When he meets the "magical" Miss Cummings, he feels she is the woman he's been waiting for.

Tuesday, April 3, 2012

The A-Z Challenge Letter C

C is for Captain Richard Gaines. The hero in THE CAPTAIN'S LADY.

Richard is a naval hero who remained with Lord Nelson during his death after the great battle at Trafalgar.

When Richard goes to America, he meets an uncommon woman who captures his heart. His travails through the deep South to find her kidnapped daughter lead him through the travesties of slavery and upon his return to England, he finds he's brought more back from America than he bargained for.

Monday, April 2, 2012

The A-Z Challenge Letter B

B is for Bailey, or more formally, Gregory Francis Scott, the Earl of Bailey.

He is first found in THE LADY'S FATE, as a fake fiance for Lady Violet Flowers. He's a far flung relative to Lady Olivia and as no one can refuse any request of Lady O's, Rory comes down from Caithness in Scotland to save poor Lady Violet from ruin.

After Lady Violet finally weds her one true love, Rory finds his own adventure in THE EARL'S ENIGMA, when he meets Lady Rosamund Smith, a bluestocking with a secret that could blow the doors off of Rory's well -ordered life of academia.

The A-Z Challenge Letter A

I've never done this, but I thought it might be fun. My theme for this challenge is to show you my characters from all my books.

A is for Amanda.

This is Amanda Pomeroy, Lady Penelope Leighton's best friend growing up. She went off to America with her father when she was fourteen, but had kept up a correspondence with Penny.

In THE CAPTAIN'S LADY, Captain Richard Gaines is going to America, and Penny asks him to deliver a package to Amanda.

Richard gets more than he bargained for when he meets the lovely Amanda, and their story is filled with swashbuckling heroes and high-seas adventure.
